Digital Photo Frames - 100 years of Photos in One Picture Frame
I am a fan of pictures. I cherish vintage family photos, snaps of vacations, and if you choose to be a
"friend" of mine of Facebook, you will be barraged with tons of
photos of my beautiful granddaughter. I used to love to scrapbook, but that
became very expensive and takes up a ton of space in a tiny house. Then I discovered the joy of the digital photo frame! I was able to scan all my photos, categorize them on my computer,
and transfer ones I would like to see regularly to an SD card, plug it in
the back, and, voila!, instantly I had my very own "Picture Picture",
just like Mr. Rogers. Recently my old digital photo frame gave up the ghost and
died, so I removed the SD card and am on the hunt for a new one. I found some
really neat advances in digital photo frames as I perused what is available in
the market place. Let me share some the cool models I have found and the awesome features they have beyond just showing pictures*:
Micca M707z-7, 7" 800 x 480 High Resolution Digital Photo Frame w/auto
on/off timer, MP3 and video player.
The Micca M707z is very easy to use,
with no required setup and no software to install. Just insert a storage device
such as a USB flash drive or SD card with photos into the photo frame, turn it
on, and the slideshow will automatically start. You can even take a SD card
from a camera and play photos from it directly without any additional
processing. With a built-in On/Off timer, the M707z can automatically turn
itself on and off based on a flexible schedule - perfect for the office. The
sleek and elegant M707z is less than 1" thick, with a brushed aluminum
front and curved back, delivering a beautifully modern and sophisticated look.
It is also very energy efficient, consuming only 7 watts of power in use, or
about 1/2 of an energy-saving CFL light bulb. Displaying photos for 10 hours
costs less than one cent of electricity.
In addition to photos, the M707z also plays videos and music through built-in
stereo speakers or the headphone jack. A compact IR remote is included for
convenient access to playback controls.

Electronics Homebase DPF711K Digital Message/Video Center/ Digital Picture
We have taken the digital picture
frame and cranked it up a notch, or three, with the Homebase Message Center and
Digital Picture Frame. We started with a sharp, bright 7-in LCD digital picture
frame, with enough memory to hold over 125 high resolution pictures, then
wrapped it in an erasable white board, with magnetic border for notes and
coupons. There's even a little slot for a Post-it pad. The Homebase adds a
built-in microphone for recording voice messages. The video version goes up a
step further, with a tiny camera that lets you leave full-color video messages.
Accessories include dry erase marker, Post-it note pad and color matching wire
management strip to that match your refrigerator color. This item can be
mounted on the wall or fridge and includes counter top mounting brackets.
