How to Eat an Elephant
It is finally happening! That rat-trap of an old trailer is going away! The demolition crew has been out here dismantling it for the last two days. Yesterday I realized they had begun work when they had used a saws-all to remove a window and left it leaning up against the tongue of the trailer. I was even more pleased when I got home from work this evening to see more progress had been made. I figured a photo is worth a thousand words so I snapped a few pics to share.

The Beauty of Rain in the Morning
I thought I would try to capture the incredible beauty of the rain in the forest this morning. I went to put the dog outside on the zip line and the light from the rising sun lit up the drops of rain on the leaves like diamonds on a movie star walking the red carpet. It is impossible to describe how beautiful the forest is after a night of rain, but I tried desperately to capture the beauty of the moment with my lens. These photos just could not do it, but I am going to share them anyway. Have a Saturday filled with moments of awe and beauty.

Green and Lush, Time to Mow
This winter and spring have been amazing. Tons of rain has put a significant dent in Oklahoma's drought and caused my land to become lush and fertile. The forest is dense and the plant growth is astounding. Because I do not yet have a big fancy riding mower with which to tackle these 4 acres, I needed to hire someone to do the job.
Last year my good friend Sharon and her husband came out with their brush hog and tractor, making short work of this land that had been neglected for so long. However, this year their brush hog is broken and the job can really be done with a standard riding mower anyway.
