Sears Kelvinator Country Kitchen Vintage Electric Range

I got it! I finally was able to score a vintage looking range for my Shouse. I found one listed on Craigslist. The gentleman that had it was moving. He was asking quite a bit more than I was able to pay so I wrote him an email with my offer. I was honest and upfront that I could not go higher, was not trying to be insulting, and was hopeful that, if he didn't have anyone else buy it, he would consider my offer. I was very fortunate that he took my offer of $300. I am so thrilled!

This stove is an electric stove that was sold through Sears. It was built by Kelvinator, which today is owned by Electrolux. I am guessing it was built in the late 1960's to early 1970's. The model is the Country Kitchen. It is built like a standard stove having four burners and an oven. The knobs and the clock/timer is hidden behind the doors that would have covered the ash pan and fuel loading door. It is 36" wide and sits on a base that is cast iron.

I love the look of this stove. It has all the appeal of a wood burning stove, but will be able to be used in the summer without baking me in addition to the food I am preparing.

Now I have the fridge and the stove. I only have a couple of larger appliances left to secure:

  • Deep well pump
  • Greywater Pump
  • Pressure Tank
  • A/C unit/Heater
  • Generator

Things are definitely coming together!
